June Heimsoth has loved painting her entire life from winning a dog drawing contest when she was five, She currently teaches oil and acrylic painting. June strives to learn and teach as much about the process as possible. In addition to being a member of an advanced painting study group for many years, she undertook the study of color mixing on her own and has developed a palette of three colors plus white that produces clear bright expressive paintings. When the first painting she exhibited with this palette won a blue ribbon she knew she was on to something. Since then most of her paintings are done with this very limited palette. June enters and does well in many juried shows.
June loves Colorado and it’s beautiful natural attractions. June paints animals, including commissioned pet portraits and people. She likes to paint grass and is interested in traditional farming where animals are used to support the land. (The land feeds the animals and the animals feed the land)
June owns a small gallery and studio just east of downtown Colorado Springs where she combines her art work with a hair salon.
